A unique feature of the CAfA Arbitration Rules and Mediation Rules is the Expert Pool consisting of carefully selected and renowned experts in the field of forensic science and provenance of art objects. These experts will have been vetted by a special committee of experts. If issues of material analysis or provenance arise in a CAfA arbitration or mediation, persons from the Expert Pool may be appointed as a neutral Tribunal Appointed Expert (Article 28(7), 29(1) CAfA Arbitration Rules and Article 4(7) CAfA Mediation Rules) and as a Technical Process Advisor (Article 29(7) CAfA Arbitration Rules).
